Ecovacs Deebot vacuums

Ecovacs locks the Deebot's brain to its own cloud, but a community client logs in as you and lets the automation happen on your side. Nothing here answers purely on your own network unless you also run Bumper, a stand-in for Ecovacs's own servers.

What it can become

What owners already do with it, easiest first.

Easy~20 minNo risk

Automate it from Home Assistant

Log in with your own Ecovacs account once, then schedule cleans, read battery and map data, and tie the robot into other automations. It still rides Ecovacs's own MQTT servers underneath, even once it feels local day to day.

Easy~20 minNo risk

Automate it without Home Assistant

The same account-based approach works from ioBroker for people who run that automation platform instead.

Hands-on~1 hMay void the warranty

Cut the cloud out completely with your own server

Bumper impersonates Ecovacs's own central server on your network, so the robot's XMPP and MQTT traffic never leaves the house once you point it there. Setup means redirecting the vacuum's DNS and trusting a certificate; a mistake here is easier to undo than a firmware flash, but still worth reading the docs for first.
