Hack · LG webOS TVs
Install apps LG does not sell
Install homebrew apps through LG's Developer Mode and Dev Manager without rooting the TV; renew the developer session before it expires.

What it costs
Have an LG developer account and a computer on the TV's network; the developer session lasts 1000 hours and must be renewed. This is the Developer Mode route, rather than a promise that every root-only app works.
Steps
- Create or sign in to an LG account and install the TV's Developer Mode app using the webOS Homebrew guide.
- Enable Developer Mode, let the TV restart and enable Key Server as described in device preparation.
- Use webOS Dev Manager to connect to the TV and install or remove homebrew apps.
Risks and undo
LG removes developer-installed apps when Developer Mode is disabled, including when the session expires; renew it in the Developer Mode app. Switching the same developer account to another TV disables the earlier session; disabling the mode is also the way to undo this setup, without a firmware flash.
