Hack · Bosch and Siemens Home Connect appliances
Get a local token for your own appliance
hcpy retrieves appliance keys through your Home Connect account, then uses them for local connections; repeat the cloud login when adding an appliance.
hcpy retrieves your appliance's authentication keys and feature descriptions, then connects over your local network rather than routing each connection through Home Connect's cloud.
Does it work on mine
Bosch and Siemens Home Connect appliances's models, not checked against this hack specifically yet
What it costs
You need your existing Home Connect account, connected appliances and a computer running Python or Docker on their network; device names must resolve through DNS or mDNS, and the project explicitly calls itself beta software.
Steps
- Prepare the Python environment or Docker setup in the project's setup guide.
- Follow cloud authentication to retrieve the device configuration, using the documented browser flow if SingleKey presents a CAPTCHA.
- Configure the device file and MQTT broker using Home Connect to MQTT to connect locally.
Risks and undo
The configuration contains authentication and encryption keys, so keep it private; the project remains beta, and adding appliances requires cloud authentication again. To stop the integration, stop hcpy; this setup does not replace appliance firmware.
